France unveil exotic pre-World Cup schedule

France will arrive in South Africa on June 6 and play their first World Cup match against Uruguay on June 11 in Cape Town. South Africa and Mexico are also in their group.

France plan to play three friendlies shortly before next year's World Cup in South Africa, including one against China in the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion, the French Football Federation (FFF) said on Friday.

France will play Costa Rica on May 25 at a venue to be determined in France before setting up a training camp in Tunisia, where they will play the national team on May 30.

The 1998 world champions are then planning to play China on June 4 or 5 in Reunion, provided they can rely on a decent grass pitch there, the FFF said in a statement.
