While the players were busy on the field, fans had their own clash take place outside the iconic stadium on Sunday after England lost to Italy.

The English supporters, who could not digest the loss, saw them unnecessarily attack the Italian fans. They not just hit their Italian counterparts but then there was a lot of racial abuse and stomping of the Italian national flag as well.

Some were also seen attempting to set the cloth alight but failed, while one fan could be seen spitting on the Italian flag whilst another stepped on it repeatedly.

A small number of English fans were also able to force their way into Wembley Stadium ahead of the final on Sunday, London police had said.

"Earlier this afternoon there was a breach of security at Wembley Stadium, which resulted in a small number of people getting into the stadium without a ticket," the Metropolitan Police said.

"Officers worked closely with security officials to prevent any further breaches. "We will also support action by Wembley Stadium officials to identify those without tickets and eject them."
