Colourful golfer John Daly has said that he is stunned by Tiger Woods decision to take a break away from the sport to sort out matters with his wife Elin Nordegren following revelations of his alleged infidelities.
Playing the Australian PGA Championship at Coolum, the Sunday Herald Sun quoted Daly, as saying that most players involved with the sport were shocked by Woods's decision to quit the game indefinitely.
He said he had tried to contact the fallen superstar and his manager, Mark Steinberg
"I've tried to get hold of Tiger and his manager, but he just didn't want to talk to anybody," Daly said.
"I feel like if there's anybody in this world - after what I've gone through, the ups and downs - I might give him some advice. They always say there is nobody bigger than the game of golf, but right now in these times there is, and it's him," he added.
He said Woods should have come out publicly when news of his affairs first broke and told the truth.
"I pray and hope they both get through it and if they ever need anything from me, both of them, I'll be happy to talk to them because I love them both," said Daly.
