Kohli's star keeps on rising and Team India's test captain became the most searched sportsperson on Google India in 2015. He beat out Lionel Messi (number 2), Sachin Tendulkar (number 3), MS Dhoni (number 4) and Cristiano Ronaldo (number 5).

It's been a mixed year for Kohli as he took over the test captaincy from MS Dhoni and had to wait for four tests to taste success, following which he won two back-to-back test series. Interestingly, Sachin Tendulkar who retired in 2013 still dominates the charts, and this was due to his involvement in the Cricket All-Stars series. MS Dhoni has had a tough year overall while Sania Mirza is the only woman on the list.  India’s Test captain Virat Kohli’s stocks continue to rise as he topped the list of the most searched sportsperson on Google India in 2015. Kohli is just ahead of Barcelona football club star Lionel Messi in the top 10 list that features as many as six Indians.
