MUMBAI: Has Vijay Mallya decided on his drivers for the Force India Cars next year? One is not yet sure but reports from Milan suggest that the team has retained its drivers who raced this year.

A Reuters report has said that Italian Giancarlo Fisichella and German Adrian Sutil will race for Force India next season. The report also said the pair had been confirmed for 2009 in October itself but a new technical deal between Force India and McLaren Mercedes led to speculation of a change with McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa testing for Force India last month. Report said all has now been resolved in the team and Vitantonio Liuzzi will be retained as the official test and reserve driver.

“I firmly believe that next year will be a huge opportunity for the team,” team owner Vijay Mallya was quoted as saying. “In Giancarlo, Adrian and Tonio we have a wonderful balance between experience and ambition and now complete consistency,” Mallya has reportedly stated.

But when contacted, a spokesman for the Force Indian refused to confirm or deny the report. “I cannot comment at this stage. I cannot confirm the news,” he told DNA.
Force India failed to score a point this year.
