Yuvraj Singh the batsman is yet to set alight the second edition of the Indian Premier League IPL but the Kings XI Punjab skipper made a mark with the ball, recording the first hat-trick of the second edition of the Twenty20 extravaganza here on Friday.
Yuvraj had conceded six runs in his first over before he came to send down his second.
Robin Uthappa decided to go after Yuvraj and went for a wild slog, resulting in a top edge and Simon Katich took the skier at deep mid-wicket to send back the Bangalore Royal Challengers batsman.
By the time the catch was taken, Jacques Kallis had crossed over and it was his term to see through Yuvraj's last ball of the over.
The South African, however, could not read Yuvraj's arm ball which pitched on the off-stump and went straight to peg back the stump eluding Kallis' bat.
After Piyush Chawla did the 14th over, Yuvraj came again and once again his arm ball did the trick for him.
Mark Boucher could not read the line and Yuvraj's vociferous appeal was met with the umpire's nod as the Kings XI captain set off on a prolong celebration.
L Balaji (Chennai Super Kings), Amit Mishra (Delhi Daredevils) and Makhaya Ntini (Chennai Super Kings) had earlier recorded hat-tricks in the first edition of the IPL last year.
