A tight defence along with aggressive counter-attacking moves brought hosts Pune FC a valuable 2-1 win over Mohun Bagan in the 13th round of I-league football at the Shiv Chhatrapati sports complex in Balewadi near here on Tuesday.

Trailing 0-1 in the initial stage of the game, Pune bounced back strongly and an equalizer by substitute Jeje Lalpekhlua (37’) followed by a winning header from Lester Fernandez (56’) were enough to garner three points. With this win, Pune is now in the fifth position with 22 points while Mohun Bagan is just two points ahead at the fourth.
