Manchester United star Gary Neville has said that he will be happy to suffer another defeat at the hands of Liverpool provided it ensures that his club lifts this year’s Premier League title.

The champions lost home and away to Liverpool last season, but still beat them to the trophy in the end.

This Sunday the old foes face each other at Anfield in another gigantic clash with all the pressure on struggling Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, reports The Sun.

However, veteran England right-back Neville, 34, is desperate to win.

He said: "Liverpool may have beaten us twice in the league last season, but I wouldn't say we're looking for revenge. When the top teams play against each other it seems to go through cycles and teams have good results and bad results. We know anything can happen in these kind of games, so the main thing is not losing.  The most important thing at the end of the season is winning the league and we're delighted that we won it last season.”
