All-rounder says he won’t give the team a chance to drop him again.

Irfan Pathan is in no mood to give up. The Baroda all-rounder, who once could do no wrong before he went into oblivion, says he will be back soon.

“I didn’t perform as per the team’s expectations, so I was out. I am raring to go if given an opportunity. It is for the selectors to decide when can I be best utilised,” said Pathan, who last played for India in June during the World T20 Championship in England.

Irfan didn’t feature in any of the 24 ODIs India played since but the left-hander has not given up hope. “I am trying to get to that level. The moment I come back I won’t give the team a chance to drop me,” Irfan, who was in the city for a promotional event, told mediapersons.

Irfan, however, concedes that he has not done anything great this year. “I have done nothing to boast about this year.” However, his domestic form has given him something to cheer about. Irfan has topped the batting and bowling charts for Baroda. With 22 wickets and 397 runs in five Ranji games, he has done tried all he could. Now, it’s up to Srikkanth & Co.
