MUMBAI: The final tune-up for the Indian cricket team before the March-April World Cup will be done through two bilateral series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka in January and February 2007.
"The two bilateral series would in all probability be held over best-of-four ties each. The details will be finalised during the Dubai meeting of the ICC Chief Executives Committee on September 24 and 25," Cricket Board secretary Niranjan Shah said on Friday.
Shah, who is scheduled to attend the ICC meeting, said the series against the West Indies would be held first and it would be followed by the one against the Emerald Islanders.
"The India-Windies series has been fixed between January 18 and 30, 2007 while the one against the Lankans would be held between February 7 and 18," the board official said.
Prior to these two series at home, India would be engaged in a five-match limited over series in South Africa against the hosts from November 19 to December 3, besides playing a three-Test series between December 15 and January 6.
India would play a minimum of three and a maximum of five limited over ties in the ICC Champions Trophy at home in October-November after completing their campaign in the ongoing tri-nation series in Malaysia.
The two home ODI Series in 2007 would be the last opportunity for the Indian squad to fine- tune under competitive match conditions ahead of the March 13-April 28 World Cup in the West Indies.
The team has planned to reach the Caribbean islands on March 1 and play a few warm-up games before their tournament opener on March 17 against Bangladesh.
