Indian women beat West Indies cricket team by 10 runs, level series

Experienced Mithali Raj's unbeaten 109 and fine bowling displayed by Indian spinners Diana David, Gouhar Sultana and Priyanka Roy helped India beat West Indies by ten runs in the fourth ODI and also levelled the five match series.

Batting first India made 216 losing only four wickets and then restricted West Indies at 206 in 49.5 overs.

Mithali Raj played anchor role making 109 off 106 balls with twelve fours and was supported well by opener Poonam Raut, who also contributed 62 that came off 127 balls with two fours.

For West Indies, Stefanie Taylor and Shanel Daley took two wickets each for 32 and 60 runs respectively.

Chasing a target of 217 to win the match and series, the visitor openers Stefanie Taylor and Juliana Nero gave solid platform adding 127 runs for the opening wicket but once the pair got separated the Indian spin trio gave no chance to the visitors to bounce back and team was all out at 206 in 49.3 overs.

Stefanie Taylor made 83 facing 129 balls with eight fours while Juliana Nero scored 42 off 83 balls with four fours.

For India, Diana David was the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets giving away 39 runs while Gouhar Sultana and Priyanka Roy supported her well, taking two wickets each conceding 41 runs and 35 runs respectively.

Result: India 216 for 4 off 50 overs (Mithali Raj not out 109, Poonam Raut 62, Rumeli Dhar not out 15, Stefanie Taylor 2-32, Shanel Daley 2-60) beat West Indies 206 all out off 49.5 overs (stefanie Taylor 83, Juliana Nero 42, shemaine Campbell 23, Diana David 3-39, Gouhar Sultana 2-41, Priyanka Roy 2-35).
