Backing captain Mohammad Yousuf amidst reports of his removal after the ongoing Australia series, coach Intikhab Alam has said Yousuf is giving his all to lift the team’s performance.“He’s doing his best. When the team loses, people start criticising. We take no notice of that,”Alam said.Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt had said that Yousuf was appointed only for the New Zealand and Australia, and that the board would replace him after the ongoing one-day series Down Under.Alam, however, expressed disappointment over the team’s performance in the first one-day, which Pakistan lost by five wickets.“We should never have lost. We were in a good position to win the first game of the series,” The News quoted Alam, as saying. He particularly came down hard on opener Salman Butt, who batted well to score 72 in the match, but failed to transform his innings into a match winning one.“If Salman had stayed on and got 40 more, we would have got a lot more.Anybody who gets 50 or 60 and gets out, that is not acceptable,” said Alam.
