The tender document for the new teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be available at the BCCI-IPL office at Cricket Centre here from Monday. The cost of the document is Rs5 lakh.
“This will mark the start of the global tendering process for the two new official franchises in the IPL. All bidding parties though will need to fulfil the eligibility criteria and other requirements specified in the invitation to tender,” the IPL said in a statement.
The winning bids for the two new IPL franchises will be opened here on March 7. The base price for the bid is $ 225 million. It also said the cities eligible for inviting bids are Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kanpur, Dharamsala, Indore, Cuttack, Gwalior and Visakhapatnam. In addition to these cities, Rajkot and Pune, with stadia already under construction and Baroda and Kochi, which will have new stadia going under construction, will also be eligible.
