Just a year back, Ishant Sharma was touted as the best thing that could happen. But at present, he is not even in frame when selectors pick the India squad, be it any format. For the record, he was not even considered for India’s tour to Zimbabwe, recently. But the pace sensation himself is not perturbed by what the critics say. “I have to be positive rather than thinking that I will never get a chance in the team,” said Ishant on the sidelines of a promotional event here. With the World Cup 2011 round the corner and selectors haven’t given him a look in yet, the speedster is not looking too far.For now, his target is to do well in the Test series in Sri Lanka. When asked whether he has been branded as a Test bowler only, he was quick to reply; “If that was the case then I would not have played IPL or would have been the part of one-day team.”It is only during such times when players are inundated with suggestions and words of wisdom, but Ishant has been selective in that. “I can’t take everyone’s advice,” said Ishant, adding that his experience with Pakistan legend Wasim Akram was fruitful. “He helped with outswingers, something I had never bowled,” Ishant signed off.
