Karachi: Former Pakistan captain and a former Director General of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Javed Miandad has slammed the decisions taken by board chairman Najam Sethi regarding appointment of team officials, saying that they are 'against the constitution'.

Sethi has appointed former Test captain Moin Khan as manager-cum-chief selector in addition to his role on a committee formed to appoint the team's chief coach for another former skipper Waqar Younis is the favourite.

According to The Dawn, questioning the legality of Sethi's decisions, Miandad said that as Sethi has been appointed for a short tenure so he cannot take decisions like the two-year appointment of various officials of the national team.

Miandad further said that Sethi's decisions are unilateral and against the constitution as he was given the mandate of holding elections and democratising the PCB and associations, adding that Sethi had gone far beyond his role as someone who was only supposed to oversee the process.
