Former Denmark and Arsenal midfielder John Jensen returned to English soccer on Wednesday when he was named assistant manager at Blackburn Rovers.
The Premier League club said Jensen, who won the FA Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup with Arsenal in the 1990s, had agreed a contract until the end of the season.
The 45-year-old will work alongside Steve Kean who was put in charge when Sam Allardyce was sacked in December.
"John has a wealth of experience both here and abroad and he is very much focussed on the development of players," Kean said on the Rovers website (www.rovers.co.uk).
"His views and philosophies dovetail with mine ... I am delighted to welcome him on board."
Jensen, who made 69 appearances for his country, became something of a cult hero at Arsenal for whom he played more than 100 games after joining from German club Hamburg SV.
When he scored his only goal for the north London club on New Year's eve in 1994 fans printed T-shirts saying "I saw Jensen score!"
Since ending his playing career Jensen has had coaching spells in Denmark and Spain, assisting Michael Laudrup at Brondby and Getafe.
