Real Madrid's new coach Jose Mourinho wants to ask the club bosses to get Chelsea defender Ashley Cole at the Bernabeu. But Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti wants to charm Cole to stay at the club. The £20 million tug-of-war for the England defender will depend almost entirely on Cole's mood following revelations over his private life and split from wife Cheryl.Mourinho told Jorge Valdano, general manager of Real Madrid, to tempt the Blues with a straight cash offer or a player exchange deal involving Real midfielder Rafael van der Vaart, The Sun reports."Talk surrounding Cole coming here is not confined to the media. Mourinho wants people with experience and confidence and Ashley fits the bill," a Real Madrid source said.Ancelotti said: "If a player is not happy, I'll find a way to make things better. Maybe I'll tell him a joke. But I think Ashley will stay. He has never said he is not happy."
