India will look to carry on their winning momentum against Asian rivals, Bangladesh in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup tie in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The hosts currently occupy second position in Group A with six points while Bangladesh are a spot behind with five points.

After losing to South Korea in their opening match on Friday, India bounced back in style as they crushed Australia 54-20 to record their first win of Kabaddi World Cup. India needed to make a statement and they did it in an emphatic manner.

It was a superb all-round team effort and all Indian players pitched in the comprehensive victory. India benched Rahul Chaudhari and Jasvir Singh and started with Pardeep Narwal and Sandeep Narwal in their place. Indian substitutes played a key role in the victory as the bench contributed 20 points. Ajay Thakur was top scorer for India and scored seven points – all scored after coming on as a substitute.

Whereas the green brigade, riding on excellent performances by their raiders, notched a comfortable 52-18 win over England in the second match of Group A. Captain Aruduzzaman Munshi led the scoring charts with eight points as Bangladesh raiders scored 34 points. England’s defence had a night to forget as they not only failed to score too many points but also allowed easy bonus points to Bangladesh on numerous occasions.
