Kenkre FC survived yet another penalty shoot-out scare as they upset ONGC 5-3 in a thrilling semifinal of the Nadkarni Cup at the RCF Sports Complex in Chembur on Sunday.
With both teams locked at 2-2 after 90 minutes, the match was forced into tie-breaker where the seasoned ONGC side stumbled. Heavy spell of rain few hours before the kick off made the outfield extremely slushy. This resulted in the match being slow paced and the players struggling to remain on their feet grounded.
Sandeep Sanga, Sudipto Kar and Sunil Thapa missed the penalty for ONGC. They will face the winners of Air India and Central Railway in the final.
