Kochi allotted first ODI in the India-Aussie ODI series in October

Big time cricket is returning to Kerala after three years, with the International Jawaharlal Nehru stadium here being chosen for the first One-day International cricket tie in the India-Australia seven match ODI series beginning in October.

The last ODI here was on October 2, 2007 when the Aussies won by 84 runs.

India has won four of the six matches held on the ground.

Sachin Tendulkar had achieved his best bowling performance in his 20 years career in the ODI here, bagging 5 for 32 against Australia in 1998, which India had won by 41 runs.

The work at the ground is fast progressing with the pitch work in the final stages.
