Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has told friends that he will consider leaving the club in January if they withhold substantial image rights payments in response to his failed drug test.

A decision on the bitter battle will be taken in a hearing, due to take place today, chaired by club executive Brian Marwood, the Daily Mirror reports.

City had first tried to fine Toure around £500,000, but have now decided to go for his image rights, which are worth 20-25 percent of his earnings.
