Lewis Hamilton who appeared on BBC1’s ‘Jim’ll Fix It’, took a 12-year-old fan from Burnham, Buckinghamshire for a drive on the racing track.

The 26-year-old driver answered the letter written by young Mitchell Souter, who wanted to join the British driver’s team and learn some driving skills.

After arriving at Goodwood, Souter was eager to show his idol what he was made of.

“So who’s driving? Me or You?” the Mirror quoted the boy as saying.

“You’re a bit young for that for now so I think I’ll take you for a spin,” Hamilton said.

The two then spent 90 minutes together doing laps of the track in a McLaren 12C supercar reaching speeds of 160 mph.

“I have had the most amazing day,” Souter said.

Meeting Lewis Hamilton has been a dream come true and highlight of my racing career, and I’m only 12 years old.

“I was so excited when I arrived at the race track and I did not know at that time that I was going to meet Lewis.

“When I did finally meet Lewis he was just a cool guy and we talked loads about racing.

“He is a top driver and a top guy.

“It was like having all my birthdays and Christmases all together and Lewis Hamilton was with me. I’m still smiling inside out,” he added.

Souter is just one of the lucky kids who are getting their dreams come true on the new ‘Jim’ll Fix It’, hosted by Shane Richie as a tribute to Sir Jimmy Savile, who died in October.

The other featured children, aged between 7 and 12 years old, have a variety of interests and dreams.

Among them they get to perform with their idol, do a very grown up job and fulfil a fairytale fantasy.
