India wrestler Ravi Dahiya (57kg) has stormed into the final of his weight category as he won against Asian champion Nurislam Sanayev (Kazakhstan) in the semis. Dahiya won the bout by fall.
As for Deepak Punia, he lost to David Morris of the USA. Taylor comprehensively takes the bout and Deepak will now play for the bronze medal.
What a turnaround it was. Nurislam Sanayev had taken a 9-2 lead, but Dahiya registered a come-from-behind win to defeat Nurislam Sanayev. Dahiya's medal will be India's fourth medal at the Tokyo Olympics so far.
Dahiya will now be seen in the final on Thursday. He'll be the first wrestler to enter the final after Sushil Kumar.

Earlier, Ravi had won on technical superiority and progresses to the quarterfinals after beating Oscar Eduardo Tigreros Urbano of Colombia 13-2 in the pre-quarterfinals. He then went on to win the quarter-final bout 14-4 by technical superiority.
As for Deepak Punia (86kg), he defeated China's Lin Zushen in a thrilling bout. It was in the closing minute that Punia gained a three-point lead to win 6-3. Punia faces David Morris (USA).
Taylor has taken a 9-0 lead in the first period.
