Inter Milan duo Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku have equaled club legend Obafemi Martins and Adriano's goalscoring record during the Nazzuri's 5-0 Europa League semi-final victory over Shakhtar Donetsk. In the match, Matinez and Lukaku are now the first duo to bag 20+ goals each in a season for Inter since Adriano and Obafemi Martins managed it back during the 2004-05 campaign.
The Argentine struck first for Antonio Conte's side in the 19th minute after heading past Shakhtar goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov from an inch-perfect cross from Nicolo Barella.
Nigerian Obafemi Martins and former Brazilian forward Adriano were the last Inter players to achieve this goal-scoring feat during Roberto Mancini's Coppa Italia triumph in the season where Inter finished third in Serie A and also were quarter-finalists in the UEFA Champions League.
After Lautaro's opener, Danilo D'Ambrosio doubled Inter's lead on the night in the 64th after some robust play from Marcelo Brozovic.
In the 74th minute, Martinez completed his brace before Lukaku struck twice to complete Inter's 5-star performance on the night.
With those two goals, the Belgian no.9 has now been directly involved in 17 goals in his past 10 Europa League matches (14 goals and 3 assists) and is also on a record scoring streak in his last 10 successive games in the competition.
Inter will take on Sevilla in the final of the Europa League on August 21 at the Cologne's RheinEnergieStadion.
