Suspended Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been pulled off a plane to his native Argentina to attend the club’s investigation into his apparent refusal to play in a Champions League game.

According to the Daily Express, Tevez and his family had tickets for a flight out of Manchester on Friday evening.

The striker was however told that he is needed at the Etihad Stadium.

In preparation for a crunch meeting, City have spoken to everyone involved in the flashpoint at Bayern Munich, and both the club and player will have legal representation.

It is reported that if Tevez refused to play on last Tuesday, he could be fined two weeks’ wages (around £500,000), six weeks’ (£1.5 million) or have his contract terminated.
