“They are struggling to pin-point the infection that has affected his lung. Soha flew down to the Capital on Saturday when she got a call from her mother that he needs some medical attention. He was shifted to the ICU by the time Soha reached there,” says a source.

A friend of Soha, who was there with the actor, said that Pataudi senior has been having difficulty in breathing since Friday night and doctors decided not to take a chance.

“He is now stable, but the doctors are keeping a round-the-clock watch on him. He is still having difficulty in breathing and is being injected with steroids and intra-venous antibiotics to clear his respiratory tract,” the friend informed.

Son, actor Saif Ali Khan, who halted the shooting of his film mid-way, was on his way to Delhi at the time of going to press.

“Saif will reach here soon. Though he is stable, Saif has already contacted a reputed doctor in the US to figure out the infection that Mr Pataudi has contracted. At this point of time, he is not in a condition to be shifted in another hospital,” the source added.
