Mumbai FC seek first home win against East Bengal

East Bengal will be keen to put behind their defensive lapses that cost them their previous match when they take on Mumbai FC in the I-League 12th round here on Monday.

Both the teams are keen to put up a good show and improve their position in the points table, which at the moment does not look good for them at the moment. East Bengal are ninth (11 points in seven games) while Mumbai FC are 11th (8 points in 10).

Mumbai FC haven’t been at their best at home this season and are yet to secure their first win as hosts. On the other hand, East Bengal have been in fine form in their away fixtures, scoring two wins and a draw in three matches and will pose a tough challenge to the Jamil-coached side Mumbai FC.

“All that has happened is past. We look ahead and Monday’s match is one among them. The boys are eager to go out and deliver,” said East Bengal coach Armando Colaco.

“There is nothing as a weak or a strong team, and many upsets in this edition of the league have proved the pundits wrong. So we will never underestimate any opponent,” he said.
