Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim issued an apology for taking swipe at India after their seven-wicket defeat at the hands of West Indies in the World T20 semifinal clash at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
After the hosts were knocked out of the T20 format's pinnacle event, Rahim posted a picture of skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni speaking during the post-match press conference on his Twitter page and wrote, 'Happiness is this'.!!! #ha ha ha..!!!! India lost in the semifinal.'
The 27-year-old, however, soon deleted the tweet and apologised to the nation after his comments sparked outburst among the fans. 'Sorry to all of you guys...as I am a big West Indies supporter but anyway sorry again for some harsh words...!!!!,' he tweeted.
With the win, 2012 champions West Indies have set up a summit clash against 2010 champions England to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.
