PANCHKULA: A strong all-round performance from the Dhaka Warriors saw them romp home to a comfortable 8-wicket victory over the Chandigarh Lions in the 20th match of the ICL20s Indian Championship at the Tau Devi Lal stadium in Panchkula on Friday night.

Shahriar Nafees of the winners was declared the Man of the Match for his brilliant unbeaten knock of 73 runs. Nafees was ably assisted by Alok Kapali, who remained not out on 32 off 17 balls which included three fours and a couple of sixes.

Earlier in the evening, the Chandigarh side, put into bat, was off to a solid start with Tejinder Pal Singh going on the offensive from the very beginning scoring 15 runs off the first over from Mohammed Sharif. Dhaka however struck back with Sharif sent home by TP Singh in the third over.

But Tapash Baisya’s eventful fourth over put the Chandigarh Lions in trouble with Sarabjit and Lou Vincent (run out) sent home with the scoreboard reading 29 for 2.
