Portuguese and Manchester United football star Nani is on a mission to be regarded as the best player on the planet.

The Red Devils winger appears to be heading in the right direction.

And the Sun quoted boss Alex Ferguson, as saying: "Nani's marvellous. He was brilliant — absolutely brilliant. He's a terrific player and he's starting to mature. We're going to get the best years out of him, no doubt."

The Portuguese star said: "That's one dream I've got — to be the best in the world. I know I have the condition to be among the select best players in the world but I have to work hard and show that.”

He added: "Hopefully, when I have finished playing football, people will say, 'Nani was a fantastic player who won a lot of titles and beat records at the club' — or something like that."

Nani's goal against Chelsea was a 32-yard spectacular that flew into the top corner at 81 mph.
