Indian vice-captain and opener Virender Sehwag last night claimed that suggestions of infighting among Indian players were rubbish and rejected reports of a rift between him and captain M.S. Dhoni.
Sehwag felt compelled to respond to these allegations when contacted by The Age.
''When teams start losing, then these kind of things come, but there is nothing true in that. We are playing as a team and we are fine,'' he said.
He added: ''I can't talk about anything else because there are rules, but you asked me about this and I can say it is rubbish. We are as a unit and we are carrying on for the next Test.''
Sehwag has been at the heart of rumours of a fractured dressing room after India's capitulation to Australia in the first two Tests.
Brad Haddin and Ryan Harris have both alluded to a feeling within the Australian camp that the Indian players turn on each other when they are under pressure.
Some in the Australian camp wish Haddin had kept his views, that India ''break quicker than anyone in the world'', behind closed doors, wary of providing the Indian fast bowlers with motivation for a furious resurgence in the third Test.
