Gujarat police today said there is no specific threat of a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team which will be coming here tomorrow to play the first Test of a three-match series against India starting November 16.
"There is no intelligence input of terrorist a threat to Sri Lankan team in Ahmedabad," the district Range Inspector General (IG) Ashish Bhatia said.
Joint Commissioner of Police Satish Sharma also said that there is no specific threat for the Sri Lankan team.
"There is a general threat of terror in Gujarat and the state police is taking all precautionary measures to deal with it. The warning was issued by the central government after the arrest of David Headley by FBI in the US," he said.
"We are also checking bike riders in the city. Many crimes like chain snatching and loots are also committed by people using bikes. We are doing this as a precautionary measure," Sharma added.
Sri Lankan team had faced terror attack in Lahore on their tour of Pakistan.
The visitors will arrive in the city tomorrow to play their first test, starting from Monday.
