Novak Djokovic carried forward his imperious form of 2015 by winning the first title of the year with an impressive 6-1 6-2 victory over Rafael Nadal in the final of the Qatar Open on Saturday, reports BBC.
The Serb has now won nine out of the last ten meetings with the Spaniard and remains the most toughest opponent in the professional tennis circuit. Novak Djokovic leads Rafael Nadal 24-23 in their head-to-head record.
The 28-year-old broke Nadal twice in both sets as the Spaniard had no answer to the pace and power of his ground strokes. Djokovic is preparing to defend his Australian Open title from 18 January.
Earlier, Djokovic had won 6-3 7-6 (7-3) against third-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych while Nadal had got the better of Illya Marchenko of Ukraine 6-3 6-4 in the other semi-final.
