Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has been in the news since his achievements at the Tokyo 2020 Games. From attending events to acting in ads, the star has surely been having a busy schedule.
The star had always sported long hair in the past and was first seen flaunted his hairstyle when the teenager had won the World Junior Championships in 2016.
For a long period of time, Neeraj had not let go of his long hair, saying it looked good on him. However, ahead of Tokyo Olympics, Neeraj decided to chop off his long hair.
So when he was asked why gave up on long hair, the 23-year-old at India Today Conclave 2021 on Friday, said, "It kept falling on my eyes, the hairstyle definitely didn't help. That's why I cut it off. If something unfortunate had happened, people would have pointed fingers at my long hair.
"I tried wearing a cap and even covering my head. But nothing worked at the competition. When I felt for the final brake, the hair used to fall forward. Even sweat was dripping on my face.
"50 per cent of my concentration went on handling my hair."
In the Tokyo Games, Neeraj has topped the qualification with a single throw and won a historic gold medal for India. He had thrown the spear beyond the 87m-mark on August 7 and no one was able to overtake the 87.58 mark.
