India's Leander Paes and Australian Paul Hanley dug deep to enter the pre-quarterfinals of the $3,770,000 Sony Ericsson Open tennis tournament at Miami.

NEW DELHI: India's Leander Paes and Australian Paul Hanley dug deep to enter the pre-quarterfinals of the $3,770,000 Sony Ericsson Open tennis tournament at Miami, Florida on Friday.

Paes and Hanley, seeded eighth, rallied from a set behind to beat Yves Allegro of Switzerland and Paul-Henri Mathieu of France 2-6, 6-0, 10-3.

The Indo-Australian duo will next face the unseeded German-Dutch pair of Christopher Kas and Rogier Wassen, who defeated the Czech combination of Leos Friedl and David Skoch 2-6, 6-4, 10-4.

Fourth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of Bahamas will open their campaign against the Czech pair of Tomas Berdych and Lukas Dlouhy later on Saturday.
