On the second day of the Paris 2024 competition, Manu Bhaker and the women's archery team are poised to compete for medals. Additionally, the badminton, boxing, swimming, tennis, and table tennis contingents will continue their pursuit of victory in Paris.
Following the rifle mixed team's near miss in securing India's first medal, Manu Bhaker stands as a strong contender to claim the country's inaugural medal at the Paris Games after advancing to the women's 10m air pistol final.
The women's archery team, comprised of Deepika Kumari, Bhajan Kaur, and Ankita Bhakat, will be competing in the quarterfinals. This trio has the potential to end the day by contributing a medal to India's Olympics 2024 Medal Tally on what promises to be an eventful day in Paris on Sunday, July 28.
The action on day 2, featuring Indian athletes, will commence with shooting, followed by badminton. Tennis and table tennis matches will also be on the agenda, alongside a boxing bout featuring World Champion and medal favorite Nikhat Zareen.
PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy will launch their respective singles campaigns in badminton, while Achanta Sharat Kamal, Manika Batra, and Sreeja Akula will kick off their singles campaigns in table tennis.
In shooting, in addition to Bhaker, who is a strong medal contender, the air rifle shooters who narrowly missed out on a medal on Saturday, July 27 - Elavenil Valarivan, Ramita Jindal, Sandeep Singh, and Arjun Babuta - will also be in action.
Swimmers Srihari Nataraj and Dhinidhi Desinghu, as well as singles tennis player Sumit Nagal and the doubles team of Rohan Bopanna and Sriram Balaji, may also take to the court after their match was canceled due to rain on Saturday.
