An 88th minute equaliser by Dempo Sports Club skipper Anthony Pereira spoiled Pune Football Club’s (PFC) chances of securing their first win in the I-league at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi on Sunday.

Even after getting a good start, the hosts had to satisfy with a 1-1 draw and managed to get only one point. On the other hand, Dempo SC maintained their top place with 12 points in their kitty.

In spite of the absence of their key defender Chika Wali, Pune FC managed to hold the opponent’s strikers, while Edmar Figueira and Arata Izumi kept Dempo’s defenders busy with a series of attacks.

Izumi gave PFC the lead in 82nd minute, however, Pereira scored the much needed equaliser for his team in the 88th minute.
