Rohit Sharma amassed 264 runs off 173 balls, smashing 33 boundaries and 9 sixes on the way as India posted a mammoth score of 404/4 off 50 overs in the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka at Kolkata on Thursday.

After missing international cricket for a while, Rohit Sharma celebrated his comeback into the Indian team by becoming the first cricketer to score two double-centuries in ODI cricket. The other double centuries in ODI cricket so far are Virender Sehwag (219), Rohit Sharma (209) and Sachin Tendulkar (200 not out), who was the first to reach the mark.

Earlier in the innings, Rohit was dropped on 4 by Thisara Perera at third man. But the Mumbai batsman made the best of the chance and lived up to the faith shown by the team management and the skipper himself.
