Sania Mirza scripted history on Sunday by clinching her second Grand Slam of the year after she won the women's doubles US Open title with Swiss partner Martina Hingis in New York.
The Mirza Hingis pair defeated Casey Dellacqua of Australia and Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova 6-3, 6-3. This is Sania's 2nd Grand Slam title with Martina Hingis.
On Wednesday, Mirza and Hingis saw off the challenge of Taipei girls Yung-Jan Chan and Hao-Ching Chan 7-6(5) 6-1.
