It was a day when cricketer Shoaib Malik and tennis star Sania Mirza finally breathed easy with Ayesha Siddiqui and her family agreeing to drop charges and withdraw cases they had filed against the cricketer.
Amidst this, sources reveal that Sania’s family held a closed-door prayer ceremony. Apparently, only very close family members were present. Even Sania’s closest friends weren’t invited. It seems Shoaib was present at the prayer meet too.
A close family friend of the Mirzas’ says, “It was a big day for Sania who hasn’t slept well for many days now. Her family is relieved even though some people are still having doubts why Shoaib has agreed to formally divorce Ayesha after repeatedly saying that he wasn’t married to her. However, it’s a relief for the Mirzas that the chaos has finally ended.”
The source adds, “The family sat down and prayed, thanking God that their worries were finally over. Shoaib, who has been through a lot in the last few days, was also looking a much relieved man. He also sat down and prayed. We learn that though the mood was sombre there was peace in the family. Now the proceedings for marriage will kick off. Not many days are left.”
