SC restrains PB in telecast case

The Supreme Court on Friday restrained the Prasar Bharti from interfering with the telecast of the tri-series cricket in Sri Lanka.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday restrained the Prasar Bharti from interfering with the telecast of the tri-series cricket in Sri Lanka involving India, the US Open Grand Slam tennis, the World Cup hockey for men and women, and the Champions Trophy hockey, the exclusive telecast rights of which is with the Dubai-based Ten Sports.

 A bench comprising Justice Ashok Bhan and Justice Markandey Katju also directed Prasar Bharti not to take any co-ercive steps against the private television channel to bag the telecast of these events.
