NEW DELHI: The national selectors, led by Chairman Dilip Vengsarkar, met Cricket Board President Sharad Pawar at his residence on Thursday.
After holding parleys with the BCCI chief behind closed doors, the selectors headed to DDCA headquarters at Feroze Shah Kotla ground where the Indian team for the three-Test series against South Africa is to be announced.
The meeting of the five-member selection panel was to take place in Mumbai but was shifted here to enable Pawar, also the Agriculture Minister, to have a word with the selectors.
India, who have conceded a 3-0 defeat to South Africa in the one-day series, are to play their first Test in Johannesburg from December 15.
