Akhil Khushlani, who has driven in the Formula BMW Series from 2007 to 2009, will also drive as the guest driver for Meritus.GP team. And joining him will be Italian driver Lorenzo Camplese, who will drive for Eurointernational.

Meanwhile, the championship promises to have an exciting finish with six races to be run. Already, the series has seen some stiff competition between the top three drivers viz Lucar Auer, Afiq Ikhwan Yazid and Nabil Jeffri.

Malaysian Yazid stormed to victories in the two previous rounds that were also run as the support races for the Singapore Grand Prix. With 184 points in the bag, he is within striking distance of the championship leader from Austria Lucas Auer, who has a total of 193 points. Yazid is in good nick. He has garnered six back-to-back wins and looks all set to make the move on Auer. Another Malaysian, Nabil Jeffri, is in the third spot with 122 points.

The only other driver who has a chance of winning the championship is Australian Duvashen Padayachee. The Eurasia Motorsport driver finally got a podium place in the last race.
