Flamboyant Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi would be seen in action during Bangladesh’s T20 championship, Bashundhara Cup, which would be played in Sharjah later this year.

Afridi would be playing for the Brothers Union Club, Chittagong in the competition.

Afridi told PakPassion.net that he is eagerly looking forward to the tournament, and would try to give his best for the team he is representing.

“I'm looking forward to playing in the Bangaldeshi T20 competition. It will be my first taste of action in this competition and I will as always give my all for my team to win this trophy,” he said.

However, Afridi made it clear that he would take part in the T20 league only if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) grants him permission.

“Yes playing in a T20 competition is a good experience, but I will only play in these tournaments when I get clearance and approval from the Pakistan Cricket Board. I was supposed to play for the Nashua Dolphins in South Africa this year, but as the matches clashed with the two T20 matches in Dubai, I therefore did not play in the South African T20 competition,” he said.

The star all-rounder has been signed by a number of domestic teams across the world.

Besides representing the Deccan Chargers in the cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL), Afridi has also been signed up by Hampshire, the Nashua Dolphins, and South Australia.

He is also due to play for the Emirates Airlines team in a quadrangular tournament involving South Africa's Cape Cobras, and English County teams Sussex and Surrey in the UAE in March.
