First it was Wikipedia. Now, it’s MS Dhoni.
Two weeks after an entry on the web encyclopedia hailed Ravindra Jadeja as a philanthropist and a Nobel laureate, it was the India skipper’s turn to poke fun at his teammate.
The Saurashtra all-rounder was one of India’s top performers in the recently-concluded Test series against Australia, but that hasn’t stopped fans from taunting the 24-year-old. And credit, if any, must go to the person who owns @Sir Ravindra Jadeja, a handle which has 6,559 followers but doesn’t follow anyone!
Dhoni isn’t exactly a social media enthusiast but he’s enthralled his 1.8 million like never before on Tuesday. He tweeted, “Sir ravindra jadeja shooting for @7upindia. http://yfrog.com/h3rtudjcj,” around 11 am on Tuesday. An hour later, he retweeted this: “Twitter follows Sir Ravindra Jadeja.”
His followers went crazy and Dhoni added to the ‘commotion’ by posting another gem. “Wen sir jadeja drives his jeep, his jeep remains still and road moves and wen he goes in to bat the pavillion moves to the wkt.”
He wasn’t done. “Sir jadeja doesn’t run to take the catch but the ball finds him and lands on his hand,” was his next post. “Whenever sir jadeja makes an error its an invention and on a daily basis v get plenty of those, all patent pending,” was another comical post.
Now, sample this: “God realised RAJNI sir is getting old so he created sir ravindra jadeja.” Jadeja had had enough by now. And he, rather sheepishly, pleaded his skipper and Suresh Raina to stop it. “I dnt wanna b nxt rajnikant @ImRaina @msdhoni pls maaf kardo ahahaahah,” he tweeted in desperation. This story is not over.
