Don Bosco, Matunga, scored a facile 4-0 victory over Antonio De Souza High School (ANZA) in the Tata Tea Jaago Re Inter Milan Soccer Stars’s tourney. The Bosco boys were crowned winners of the Mumbai zonal league matches.

They will now compete with 14 other teams across the country in the national championship in Shillong.

“The boys were told to play their natural game and that was the only strategy,” said Don Bosco’s assistant coach Trinidade Brettos.

Ritvik Punja opened the Don Bosco account by scoring in the fourth minute. Two minutes later, the Bosco boys were up 2-0, courtesy Marc D’souza.

ANZA didn’t have a sniff in the game as Don Bosco netted in two more goals to clinch the title. Quentin Britto capped a perfect day by making it 4-0 in the 18th minute.

Punja and ANZA’s Ansari Mohammad Kashif were selected from Mumbai for the All-India football camp in Kolkata in May. Thirty kids from 15 locations will be trained by Inter Milan and Indian coaches in Kolkata. Sixteen of them will be short-listed to travel to Milan.
