Sports ministry set to derecognise Athletics Federation of India
The AFI elections of held earlier this year have been come under the radar ever since they were challenged in court.
The Union sports ministry is all set to de-recognise the Athletics Federation of India as the elections in the body were not held as per sports code rules.Interestingly, the elections of the Athletics Federation of India held on April 14 this year have been under cloud ever since after writ petitions were filed in the Delhi High Court against the "manipulative" practices of sports federations.
