MUMBAI: Kerala speedster S Sreesanth may not be with the team in Sri Lanka due to a side sprain but the seamer is keenly following his team’s performance. The 25-year-old is glad with the way the Indian team bounced back in the second Test match and levelled the series.

“It was a brilliant effort especially bouncing back after being 0-1 down to Sri Lanka at home. It was a great team effort where everybody played well and now the series has become more exciting,” the seamer told DNA from Kochin.

His infamous spat with Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh during the Indian Premier League had hit the headlines which also saw the latter being fined and banned from five one-dayers, however, the Keraliite did not shy away from praising Harbhajan for his effort and his 10-wicket haul in the second Test which was one of the reasons for India victory.

“Yeah Harbhajan bowled very well. But Ishant Sharma too did well and also Virender Sehwag’s crucial double hundred which took away the match from Sri Lanka. It was a complete team effort and credit should go to everyone in the team. I hope we win the last Test so that we can win the series,” Sreesanth said.

Sreesanth, who sustained a side strain injury during the final league match of Indian Premier League while playing for Kings XI has recovered from the injury and is all set to comeback into international cricket. “I am fit and raring to go. I am ready for international cricket and I am keeping my fingers crossed but it is up to the selectors,” he added.

The 25-year-old said he had been working at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore when he was injured. “I had been at the NCA training under Dav Whatmore, physio Paul Close and other experts so it has gone quite well. Hope to get back at the international circuit soon,” he added.

Sreesanth further said that he had been in touch and have had quite a few practice matches. “I have not only trained with the National Cricket Academy but also with my Kerala state team. I have also played a couple of few practice games for my state team which has been really helpful. That day I also bowled in Moin-ud Dowla Cup and I bowled three overs but it rained. Also a couple of tournaments are coming up and I am keen to play in them,” he said.
