The first Tour De India will be held in Mumbai on Sunday. The race, which will start at the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) in Haji Ali and go on till the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL), will cover a distance of around 160km. The race will be held in three categories — International elite, masses and amateur.
The race for the masses will start at 7am while for the international elite, it is at 9am. Top Asian and European teams, including teams from Kazakhstan, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany and Ireland will be seen in action.
Last year, for the Tour De Mumbai, International Cycling Union (UCI) ProTour teams Radioshack and Liquigas were present. This year, ProTour team Astana would be seen in action.
