The young tennis player, who was picked to play alongside Paes at the London Olympics, hoped his serve and volley comes handy on the grass courts of Wimbledon.

India's young tennis player Vishnu Vardhan, who was on Thursday picked to play alongside Leander Paes at the London Olympics, hoped his serve and volley comes handy on the grass courts of Wimbledon.

Vardhan was selected at the 11th hour to partner Paes at the Olympics as All India Tennis Association (AITA) caved in to Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna's demand to be paired up together.

"I am really happy to pair up with Leander. It is very exciting and a dream come true for me. I want to dedicate this achievement of mine to my coach, family and friends," Vardhan said after being preferred over higher-ranked Yuki Bhambri, who was also in the Olympic fray.

The World No.328 said he expected a call-up if two teams were chosen for the Games.

"I was one of the probables for the Olympics. So, I was prepared in that sense. I am looking forward to playing some good tennis in London.

Asked about playing on the grass, Vardhan said, "My singles and doubles game revolves around serve and volley. Serve is my main strength. So it should help me there.

Vardhan added that he had the experience of playing alongside Paes.

"We have played doubles Davis Cup practice matches before. Last year I was in London playing ITF, so that experience should also help."
